What causes my MacBook to power off and not turn back on?

I spilled a glass of tap water on my laptop, I immediately powered off and did a water damage treatment but now when I shut the laptop instead of going to sleep it powers off and won't reboot until I disconnect the battery. All the functions work fine. This is the only issue I'm having. Please help.

You probably shorted out the power on button. By disconnection the mag-safe and battery then plugging back in you are causing a spontaneous reboot, bypassing the power on button.

You can say thank G-d it powers up and maybe I'll just put it to sleep when not in use. Or you can replace the keyboard or uppercase. Do the rest of the keys work?

Yes, the rest of the keyboard works the up arrow occasionally randomly stays stuck on though :(

@northnaplesdpf I was trying to move your comment to this position and the system deleted it and gave you a negative 100 points. This is a system error and we'll get it corrected by Monday @evan
