Screen not working after battery replacement

I replaced , battery in the Iphone 5 and went to power it up and nothing is showing on the screen. The screen is non functional to the point that the touch doesn't work, backlight doesn't work nothing works. I have checked to make sure all the connections are connected and even re-did the process several times with no luck on the screen turning on. The Iphone does power up and Itunes is able to recognize the phone the display is just not working

Answer this question I have this problem too

Were you grounded to protect against ESD damage? Did you unplug the battery before you unplugged any other cables? This is a common issue when power is still running to the board and an LCD connector gets popped off. This could cause a short in the backlight coil or filter which would result in no display, furthermore it requires micro soldering to fix.

I imagine this is what happened either that or when lifting up with the suction cup I accidentally bent the screen over ninety degrees. Would getting a new screen fix this issues as it should include a new cable?
