Hi,

Have you proved that the problem is in the right headphone and not in the cable or the plug?

Try connecting an Ohmmeter (meter function found in most DMM (Digital MultiMeter - available from larger hardware stores for as little as $10) between the ring and sleeve connectors on the plug and see if you get a reading. By all accounts you shouldn't as the right side is not working.

(Place the leads across the tip and sleeve to prove that you are doing it right. You should get a reading as this is the circuit connections for the left headphone)

Then, with the Ohmmeter leads still connected across the two places on the plug (R & S on a TRS tip, ring, sleeve plug) try flexing the cable where it leaves the plug to see if a meter reading comes and goes. if it does it proves that the cable is fractured where it leaves the plug.

If still no reading then try flexing the cable at the entry to the headphones and see if you can get a reading. If you can then the cable is fractured there. if still no reading then you'll have to open it, which you will have to anyway if the cable is fractured at the headphones end.

Apologies that i can't help with that but if the problem is at the plug end that is an easier fix.

well i've tried different cables and it's the same result :( almost certain that it is the cable or even the female jack, wich i think i would also have problems with the right side of my headphones.

Thanks for the reply jayeff

rg.marioevaristo, The video link below, show that there are screws to be removed on the focal spirit model. If your model does not have these screws it will be either held by internal clips(probably molded into the plastic) or they may be glued together. You can try using a little heat (heat gun/hairdryer) around the perimeter seam and the carefully pry the face from the cup at the seam. Good luck. I hope this helped you out, if so let me know by pressing the helpful button.

I had the same issue and find this post. What I found is there are four plastic clips under the cover ring(the four tiny holes), and the ring is glued onto the base plate. I have successfully pry open the ring without damaging it by using a thin flat-head screwdriver. Hope it helps who also find this.
