My 6S SIM is missing - sometimes it works, sometimes not..

Hey,

i have my 1,5 yet old iPhone 6s with a strange error. Apple refused to help, they just offered switching the phone for a lot of money..

The phone looks like new, I always had my blackfox case on.

The phone works well for a couple hours, but some how it loses the sim and shot "no sim" restarting doesn't fix the problem.

When i gently hi/press the back are around the sim or antenna and reboot I have full service..

I tried packing tape on the back of the sim, seemed to work but after one day I had the same issues.. in the top area around the antenna if I hit the phone there seems something loose inside..

Any Idea where I can start to fix this?

Update (12.05.2017)

So i still get no sim, sometimes t works sometimes not - do you think it may be the baseband chip?

A guy from repair store offered me 100€, he told me without checking the device that this problem would be caused by a defective baseband chip, which requires soldering and a lot of time.. what do you think, might a defective baseband chip cause this symptoms?

im just wondering because sometimes it works all normal and after a couple of hours the device display "NO SIM".. its never "searching" or something, just "NO SIM"

Try cleaning sim card with isopropyl alcohol then put it in and out of the phone multiple times even with alcohol on it not evaporated yet.

Sometimes you may need to very carefully lift up the sim card pins / fix the spring that is in the sim card reader that tells the iPhone whether the sim tray has been inserted or not, then the iPhone reads the sim card after that pin is pushed down via the tray (not the sim card reader pins). It's a little hard to explain how it works.

The sim works flawless on my other iPhone 5S so I guess isopropyl alcohol won't solve it but I give it a try.

As i understand I will open the phone and pull up the sim pins.. right?

But what about that spring, which tells the phone there is a SIM card inserted - that sounds like a good hint, is there a fixing guide? Where ist that spring located?

Ok, at this point I think the sim card reader needs to be resoldered or replaced at worst. Sounds like the joins for the sim card reader pins are weak.

Try finding someone that does sim card reader replacements on iPhone 6s and they should be able to fix this problem.

I don't think it's the baseband chip as it goes straight away to no sim which means that the phone loses connection of sim card.
