Keyboard working except for about 7 keys.
I have a Mid 2010 15" Macbook Pro (with on i5 processor) that recently had a zone of keys stop responding. Using the QWRTY layout: Period, M, L, K, U, I, and O no longer respond. Comma works fine, which is weird.
I thought something had spilled on it so I ordered a replacement keyboard. Replacing the keyboard was no small task. I found no evidence of water or coffee....and the replacement has exactly the same issues. I have cleaned the keyboard connector with alcohol and blew it out with air, but It still does not work.
Would you suspect the logic board has failed? If so, would an upgraded board work in this unit (i7 maybe).
Thanks in advance for your help.
Is this a good question?

Did you clean the trackpad cable connection as well? Remember the keyboard feeds though the trackpad on some models.
Can you give us your exact model you have as the different series have different connections. Locate your systems S/N and plug it into here: EveryMac - Lookup

Model is A1286 (EMC 2353*) Order is MC372LL/A ID is MacBookPro6,2
I had a feeling that the trackpad could be involved, so I disconnected it and rebooted. The problem remained with the trackpad disconnected. I did the same for the card reader with the same result.
