david hutton, that would be a very, very poor performing battery. I do suppose that it is new? http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1322?viewl... shows what is expected of batteries in your iPod video. Is it possible that it is showing that your battery life jumped down from full to medium when you play a movie? Because this would actually be normal. Since it shows the rate of drain on the battery. Also, the meter is NOT very accurate. If you would try playing a song right after you turn off a movie, odds are that the meter will jump back up once the iPod realizes you're draining at a slower rate. You might want to see what happens to the battery meter a short while after you've stopped playing the video. It could just be the battery meter going down because of all the hard drive activity. I would go ahead and charge the battery and then really see how long it lasts with a combination of movie and music. I think anything significant lower than the expectation, I would replace the battery again. Also do NOT fully kill and recharge the battery often! It's bad in the long term, instead, go through charge cycles by frequent short usages and top ups and the battery life is optimized. Just my 2cents....but let us know what you found out and how it is progressing, good luck
