@arynov @imedic Thanks for all your help. I sold it for scraps, didnt want to mess with it anymore, as its out of my league with the display.

If for some reason it didn't work you can always download an external program to help restore your phone to working order without losing any of your data. One such program is called iOS System Recovery.

It can do more than just release you from the white screen of nothingness, and save you from recovery mode, black screen or if you are stuck in a start menu loop. It can correct ios system issues and help with iTunes errors.

Alright. Error 4013 sounds like a nand issue. Likely cold solder joint. Let's try Mohammadali's approach. You could remove the pentelope screws, carefully remove the home button clasp and cable, then remove the two screws on the battery plate, then disconnect the battery, reconnect and carefully re apply everything. Also, while doing this. Be careful of the display cables at the top. Make sure they are always close, so as not to damage them. Then try putting the phone into dfu mode. Here's a guide for the phone, and I'll post steps to put phone into dfu mode

How to replace the battery in your iPhone 5s

Remember, you don't need to take the whole battery out. Just remove cable. Replace cable

Plug your device into your computer with a USB cable.

Turn off the device.

Hold the Power button for 3 seconds.

Hold the Home and Power buttons for 10 seconds.

Release the Power button but keep holding the Home button.

Here's some steps to try to get your phone into dfu mode. Also can you tell us what happened? Why are you trying to restore it? Was there damage? Water?

@theimedic i will try to get it into DFU mode again. someone got an old iphone 5s battery and ask me to test it out. turn out the battery is bad. So, i put back my battery and see it flash the apple logo when i turn it on. Since i can not get it to boot up, i try to restore it.

Try to open the phone by taking the two bottom screws off and then unplugging the battery and then putting it back on. Do at your own risk. You can also try to hold the home button and the power button at the same time for about 40 seconds while plugged into the outlet and that may also make it work.

Try to restore with 3U Tools and use with other lightning cable. Another option if still failed, as Imedic say's if the problem is cold soldering, you can heated iphone at back case, and while its still warm, try to restore

tried 3u tools, did not work, try flashing with 3utools, also go back to recovery mode screen. I will try the cold soldering.

by

whats the proper procedure to fix the cold soldering? @arynov

by

Heating up the phone with a hairdryer while the restore process. Just lift the screen so hot air from hairdryer can flow at logic board (near sim tray) then do restore. Actualy i've never been try for my self because not yet facing problem like yours. But at some topic at this site that i've been read that's method work

by

@arynov @imedic I did something similar, i used a heat gun and did it for 90 seconds, and it did restore, but after using it for a while, the display is black.

by

Do you did restore process sucsesfully? i recommend hairdryer not heatgun Since it produce higher temperature so higher risk to damage other component
