Plugged in my USB charger into USB port, is it repairable?

My sister accidentally plugged in my USB charger into USB port, is it repairable?

Lenovo G50 laptop comes with a charger which has USB-like jack which you connect when charging the machine. That's what was accidentally plugged in the USB port of the same machine. It immediately went off.

Yes, it is repairable. What happens when you turn the computer on? Are there any error beeps, LED pattern or error messages?

You mean a USB wall adapter (otherwise known as a wall wart, AC/DC adapter etc) for plugging a phone into?

The power connector for Lenovo is about the size of a USB connector but there are enough differences to make it very hard to jam one into the other. Look at the ports, USB has 4 contacts and the power has a small square block in the middle that is the contact for power. If the power adapter was plugged into the USB then it could have shorted the port or damaged the system board. Check the USB port(s) for damage as well as the power connection for damage. The computer is repairable, you either have to find a place that will replace the system board or find a place that will sell you one that you can replace. It would be best to compare the cost of repair against the cost of replacement before doing either.

What you are saying is true.."the size of a USB connector but there are enough differences to make it very hard to jam one into the other". The USB port was damaged long ago where the protective plastic part of the USB port was broken. There the port was exposed. Anything of its size would fit in there. Anyway, according to your advise. I think it is better to buy a new laptop rather than having its system board replaced.
