My battery was working ok but after a system upgrade to snow leopard the icon of the battery appear with a X and the first time work with the battery but once it discharged only works with the charger but the ligth on the conector of the charger doesn't turn on and the fan cooler of the processor is always on what could be the problem?

Use Applications->Utilities->System Profiler:Power to check the number of cycles and status of the battery. If the cycles are high (over 300) the battery is probably shot. A battery can be destroyed in fewer than 10 cycles if run completely dead each time.
If the the light is out your problem could be the charger.

Bad information on the battery cycles - it was true years ago with different types of batteries but not now.
i cannot get that info but i changed for another charger but the problem persist

This sounds like a MagSafe power adapter problem. If the light does not come on at all it has probably failed and needs to be replaced.
