1 Computer booting up but no start screen, only black screen.
Hello everyone.
I have a Asus R510L Notebook, running Windows 8.
Theproblem is, whenever I boot up, it's simply black however the lights is on and I tried removing the battery which didn't help. There is little to no noise whenever it is running and no Asus/Windows start screen.
It's really important for me to fix since I have school documents there and I need it for homework asap, so any answers that may help is really appreciate it.

More information;
It happened last night when connecting a HDMI cable to the pc in order to watch a dvd on the laptop. When reconnecting the HDMI, the screen went black.
I tried using the F8 and F5/F7 hotkeys to see if that was the problem but no avail. I also tried using the TV as as a external monitor but it wouldn't go through.

Hi,
Are you using the Fn key with the F8 (Fn +F8) to toggle between HDMI and LCD screen (ensure that an external monitor is connected to HDMI when you do this)?
