screen buttons inoperable, but beep when depressed. Unit is otherwise cold, possibly too cold in the fridge compartment. Freezer appears normal.

Hi,
An Er Co error code signifies a communication error between the display control board on the freezer door and the main power board on the outer back panel of the refrigerator.
Check the following:
If you can, unplug the refrigerator and remove the cover over the control board on the back of the refrigerator, so that you can check the connections on the main control board.
Connections between the low voltage interface and the main high voltage board.
The wire harness connection under the hinge cover on the top of the left hand refrigerator door.
The wire harness connection in the dispenser.
