LCD issues with stribes

Hi guys

i have bought a macbook old model a1278 and the lcd is full of stribes and particial functional. Does anyone know if i need to replace the whole lcd or can it be fixed?

Can you clarify your exact system here Apple has used A1278 for quite a few 13" models from 2009 to 2012!

Go to here: EveryMac - Lookup plug in your systems S/N and then paste the systems URL here for us to see.

Also see if the problem shows up using an external monitor so you can isolate out if the GPU is the problem or the backlight logic is the problem.

You can try to replace the LVDS cable before replacing the complete LCD. But before you do this check if the GPU is working by plugging your MacBook to an external screen.

@sfsrepair - It would be a good idea to get a handle on what the OP has before answering before recommending to replace the LVDS cable or the LCD. Which is no different than throwing pasta at the wall to see if it sticks!

Often a strobing backlight is the cause of the LED driver logic on the main logic board. But, before we jump to that lets first get some basic info so we can figure out the best course here.
