Replaced thermal paste and nothing changed!

G'day i've recently been havin some troubles with my ps3 slim i've had it for a few years now. I would play a game with high graphics like final fantasy and in random time's of the game the console would make a beeping noise and switch off leaving a red flashing light. I was told to replace the thermal paste witch i did. now i got about 1.5 hrs out of game play and bang it started reoccurring. The console itself felt quite cool for that amount of time so i dont think it's a heating issue. But i can play other low detailed games without a fuss. So any idea's or answers that't be great thanks!

The fan has not fluctuated or sounded any different basically console just dies
