Beeping noise starts after about a minute of it on :(

My Mac randomly started beeping yesterday. It'll stay on for about a minute, pixels will show up, and beeping starts and won't stop till I shut down the Mac. Idk what to look into or what to do. It's a consistent beeping. Thanks ^^

Not know which one of the five different beeping pattern makes it totally unsure what answer to give you.. The answer below are premature and the answer providers should be ashamed for not getting the facts first.

CPU or RAM issue, both of which are soldered on the logic board. Not worth replacing the board, since these issues are plagued with either beeping issues or no chime issues. Really not a model worth repairing anything on because of this.

You may get some success in reflowing the RAM or CPU, but it will likely only be a temporary fix, and will take a fair amount of time to do.

Honestly, your best option is to sell it on eBay for spares and buy a newer model.

Really? :'(

Wow . I bought it off someone else for 175. That makes me so sad. Thanks for the info

If you bought it recently, hopefully you have a warranty. It is a well known issue with this model, so chances are the person who sold it to you knew it would fail shortly after.

So not even changing the ram out will work? :(

Thanks for replying !

by

Gina, reece said that you cant change the ram without expensive tools that most people dont have. It is soldered in and not user replacable. Just get a new one as this isnt worth fixing

by

But the one I bought isn't soldered on. :o

Like it's just loose so I'm able to move it around, probably why it's giving me 3 beeps.

%#*@, just finished reading. That really SUCKS. I mean, to heat it up seems okay, but not really worth it, I guess. Thanks a lot!!

Still really sad about it .

If its dead, cant hurt

Well guess what!! Looking over it once more a cord was underneath the logic board! So I found the little port to put it back in!! Beeping noise gone!! But screen black. Little light turns on, but dimmed, and screen just blank. :(
