tv restarts several times before picture finally comes on
tv keeps restarting when cold, after 4 - 6 attempts picture finally comes on.

billybats10 this is usually caused by bad capacitors or failed power transistors on the power board. It will help if you give us the model of your TV and post some images of your boards with your question. That way we can see what you see. Use this guide for that.
