After I have pulled the clothes out of the washer the tub appears dry but I will leave the lid open to allow it to completely dry - as suggested by the manufacturer. Here lately I go back to shut the lid and there will be droplets of water in the tub; not very much, but where is it coming from and does something need to be fixed?

Have you tried leaving it overnight and see how much is in the tub?
If there is more, try closing either the hot tap or the cold tap (unless you normally close them after finishing the washing) and then see if there is more water collecting in the tub overnight. Do one at a time to try and isolate which one it is.
It may be that there is a water inlet valve in the washer that is not closing off properly, either due to a fault or perhaps some grit is preventing it from closing properly. Also check the two water hoses filters (at the end that screws into the washer) to see whether there is much "debris" collected or even if there is a hole in the filter screen.
