The device is new (was in the Apple packaging and it really seems it's brand new)
My device only boot when it's USB plugged to a power source, tried to let it charge a whole day but it still don't power up. Any ideas ?

It sounds to me like your battery is not holding a charge or does not charge. Sound to me like you need a new battery. iPod Nano 4th Generation Battery Replacement how to do it and iPod nano (4th Gen) Battery to get one.....good luck.
