Why wont the pilot light stay lit

I light the pilot light and hold the button for the needed 30 seconds and as soon as i let it go the pilot light goes out. All the other pilot lights stay lit with no problem. I can sometimes turn the stove temp up so that it ignites but as soon as i turn the oven dial to the off position the pilot lite goes out.

bwa11131981, The thermocouple is probably the problem. When lighting the pilot, if the thermocouple is not directly in the flame and doesn’t get hot enough to allow it to open the safety valve. If it is directly in the flame and it won’t stay lit then the thermocouple is probably defective and needs to be replaced. If thermocouple replaced and attempt to light the pilot and still will not stay lit, then the safety valve will be defective and need replaced. See below a link to Vulcan service/repair manual.

Good luck. I hope this helped you out, if so let me know by pressing the helpful button.

Stupid maker of this site says I have to have 12 words or more to post. The link you posted to the manual is dead.
