Non-Functional Touchpad on iBook G4

Hi, I recently purchased an iBook G4 with no hard drive and when I boot into the installer from a disk to test out if everything works, the touchpad is unresponsive. Does anybody know why this is? If I boot into the boot selection or the installer the touchpad is still unresponsive. I really like this computer but why is this happening?

Options

The trackpad is glued to the uppercase. Try using an external keyboard and mouse to do your system installation.
