No GPS signal - battery has been replaced

Hi,

I have looked on the forum but could not find an answer to my question, I hope you can help me with this.

I have an (old) iPhone 4s. It works perfectly apart from GPS - it gets no signal. I am not the first owner but I know the battery has been replaced. I am trying to get an idea if this can be fixed easily or cheaply.

I have already tried the 'software - way' of solving it; restored it, reinstalled iOS, this all didn't solve it.

I have to wait for some time before I have the tools to open the phone. However I understood I can disconnect the lower antenna > if the phone has bad reception, there is something wrong with the upper antenna. If not, what else could be the problem? Are there parts that can be replaced?

I am also thinking about what could have gone wrong during replacing the battery; ie what cables/screws are near that connection, and if it could have anything to do with GPS.

Anyway, thanks in advance for any help. I hope the text is not too long. I know it is an old phone, but I also like the process of trying to fix it.

Answer this question I have this problem too
