What wires do I need to connect to new thermostat?

I have a Coleman EB17D heat pump with auxiliary and emergency heat.

The old Tstat is Coleman Evcon 3600-367A and the wiring is:

Blue wire-E

Green wire-G

Orange wire-O

Red wire-R

White wire-W2

Brown wire-L

New Tstat has different designations, Emerson Blue Easy set 1F89EZ-0251 and the terminal designations are:

R

C

O/B

W2

Y

G

L

Where do the correct wires go please?

Dillon Mchugh should look like this

R==>Red

C==>BLue

O/B==>Orange

W2==>White

Y==>Yellow

G==>Green

L==>Brown

Always make sure that your thermostat is appropriate for your heatpump. Contact your local HVAC expert if in doubt or check where the wires go on your heatpump and check against the thermostat diagram for the 1F89EZ-0251

Here is the wiring diagram for your heat pump

just in case you want to check the wire color used on yours.

Remember that the wire color is not standardized. The common wiring would be

Red (R)==>24V AC power (transformer)

White (w)==>Heat

Yellow (Y)==>Cool

Green (G)==> Indoor fan

Black (C)==> 24V AC common

Orange (O)==> RV on in cool

Blue (B) ==> RV on in heat

So i noticed a black wire that was not connected to the old thermostat, i read its for the auxiliairy heat. That makes 8 wires on my new 7 terminal tstat. Does that mean i have a 2h/2c system? Or do 2 wires go together? Or something else?

Sorry just saw your pic and saw its for the cooling sp... Whats that? :P sorry

It worked and i Can't believe the difference! Either the old unit needed calibrated or the aux heat wasn't kicking on. The difference is night and day! Thank you!
