Why is my display screen not responding?

Mac IBook- Dropped my ibook last week and since then screen starts grey as normal but when booting just becomes colored lines vertical & horizontal. Have pictures on it could use for x-masbut unable to get to. If no quick fix any way to use my Imac to get pictures? Unfortunately bluetooth not on.

Would be glad to show pic but not sure how to do it!

There could be a problem with the LVDS (video) cable that runs from the ibook logic board to the LCD panel via the ibook left hinge. Maybe the cable isn't connected thigh in its socket or the LCD panel electronics is damaged.

Now, to back-up your ibook you need a firewire cable that you will connect to the ibook and the imac firewire ports. Make sure the imac is powered on and the ibook off. Just push the ibook power button while holding down the T key and your ibook hard drive should mount on the imac desktop. You're now ready for a backup.
