iPhone does charge when opened, not when closed

Hi,

I replaced the battery on my iPhone 5s. I have done this before without problems.

But now, I have replaced the battery and sometimes it charge, sometimes it does not.

As far as I can see it does not matter if it is on a slow usb, a fast usb, a apple cable of a china cable. sometimes it charges on a slow china, other time a slow apple.

there are some stranges things.... if I open the iPhone, just take out the two screws and lift the screen so that it just pop out the screen from the bottom, the top can be in place and I don't see the inside, the iPhone suddenly charges!! every time.

The other thing is (with the phone fixed together "as usual") when I push the phone with both fingers left and right of the home button (on the white glass) the screen pops up. If I push long Siri speaks to me.

It looks like there is something wrong in the homebutton erea but I cant figure out what it could be.

It looks like your lightning port might be shorting out. Try putting some electrical tape on the back of the screen right near the lightning port. If that doesnt fix it you can follow this guide iPhone 5s Lightning Connector Replacement on how to replace the lightning port as that would be the thing to do next. This is the part you would need to replace it with iPhone 5s Lightning Connector and Headphone Jack

Hope this helps and good luck fixing!

I would replace the charging flex first. Unscrew all charging flex area screws, lift up and take out the speaker (black-on the bottom right side), then carefully peel off the whole flex. Stick the new flex into the place and retest.
