iPhone 6 charges only when turned off

Hello together,

Background: Some days ago I tried to reflow my iPhone 6 baseband chip, because it was constantly searching for a signal. I added some flux at the edges of the baseband chip and heated up the chip 20 seconds at 340°C. Component around the baseband chip were protected with kapton tape.

After reflow the baseband was working again and signal came back. Seems to be fixed now. My Problem is now that when I turn on the phone, charging is not possible (no charging symbol) and Itunes does not recognize the phone anymore. I have noted also that the battery power decreases faster than usual.

When I turn off the phone and connect it to the wall charger, charing works fine.

- Can it be that the u2 chip on the opposite PCB side got damaged while reflowing the baseband chip ?

- Might a short under the baseband chip cause the issue ?

Answer this question I have this problem too
