Repair broken pin on futon to get it back into couch position

The pin on the left side of my futon came out and is bent pretty good. It is very strong metal so I tried to hammer it back into place to get it to seat in the hole it goes to. This is located in the center of the unit that allows me to get it into either a bed or a sofa position. I am including pictures of that area. I hope someone has a good idea how this can be repaired. I paid over $125 dollars for it and would hate to throw it away. Right now I'm just keeping it in a bed position. Hope someone has an idea how to fix it.

Ron Voss , If you had a (large) pair of channel locks, maybe borrow(pliers/vise grips) to give good leverage, grab that bracket/pin and it should bend back fairly easy. Good luck. I hope this helped you out, if so let me know by pressing the helpful button. Good luck. I hope this helped you out, if so let me know by pressing the helpful button.
