failed attempt to repair camera and now it will not power on

i dropped my iphone 6 and the screen went black. i opened it up and noticed a connector had disconnected. i then reconnected it and everything was working just fine except for the front facing camera. after a few attempts to disconnect and reconnect various connectors, the screen went completely black and will not turn on. any idea what could be the cause of the problem?

Did you unplug the battery before connecting and disconnecting the the screen? If you didn't you may have damaged the backlight circuit. This requires a micro-soldering repair and is not DIY.

I am curious how a connector could have become disconnected though. All of the screen connectors are supposed to be under a bracket (see linked image), secured by screws. If it wasn't, that means someone previously opened the phone and attempted a repair or something.

While you have the phone open, inspect the connectors on the logic board and look for damage or loose or missing parts surrounding it.
