Why is my next book NXA101LTE116 not charging?

When I insert my charger a red light shows for about 5 secs and then the light turns orange indicating a state of complete charge but it isn't charged at all. I am as a result unable to switch my device on since it fails to charge.

Could it be the charging system? I need help.
