logic board question, and ideas?

hello. I was wondering if you could direct me on what to check with an iphone 6s that was water damaged and has no short on vcc main or vcc batt. when i hook it to dc power supply and try to power it on, it only draws 40-50 milliamps. voltages are good on vcc main and vcc batt. also when i hook up a battery it charges at like .37a instead on 1-1.3 (using 2a brick) another note is i can see there was an influx in power on vcc main because alot of the caps are black on the positive side.

Oxidized caps are typical in a water damage phone. That doesn't mean they are bad though. As @oldturkey03 says, you will need to test them. If the phone is only pulling ~50mA, that means the phone hasn't been able to boot up. However it is pulling some current so something is "on" somewhere.

If the main lines are good, then you need to start checking all of the voltage rails generated by the PMU (U2000). There may be shorts or dead PMU lines. Once you understand what is good and what's not, then you can start fixing.

Start probing and get back to us with more details. Water damaged phones are the hardest to troubleshoot.

lukerockhill "vcc main because alot of the caps are black on the positive side." you will have to measure the caps and replace the ones that have failed. They may not have shorted out but can still fail.
