iPhone 6 died at 100%, while charging and wont turn back on!

Hey I'm new to the ifixit forum and I need all of the help I could get.

My iPhone 6 died while it was getting charged by my Imac. It was at a 100% percent and it just suddenly died. It wasn't hot or anything I was just browsing social media.

And yes I tried DFU/recovery mode. The phone isn't frozen it's completely off, I also tried charging it more and trying to start it but nothing is working. Why would it die at 100%? Over charging?

We've tried the 15 second rule and the apple logo comes on, then goes off, then comes on, then off, several times. Any other suggestions?

u can place a metal bowl with hot water in it on top of the iphone back shell.u must charge your phone while doing it .after 30 sec ,it should on

by

OMG I can't believe this worked. In combination with applying while plugged, then unplugging and letting it sit, then applying bowl to the back again for 15 seconds, then using the home button/on button combination... my phone finally booted back up after being offline and failing to charge for over 24 hours. This is so crazy, but thank you.

The only thing I could think of is battery went faulty. Now for this to happen is extremely rare in this case.

I dropped the phone 3 days before this happened do you think the battery wire would get disconnected? By the way can you boot up and iPhone 6 without a battery? If you can then I definitely have a bigger problem. If you can't it's probably faulty battery/ disconnected ? The phone was charging normally before this happened so it's not the U2 chip.

No battery connectors on phones never get loose if they haven't been opened before. There's a metal cover on top of the battery connector to endure this doesn't happen. A good start is to try another battery.

Did you try pressing the home button and lock button at the same time for about 20 seconds? It worked for me

Yes, pressing on/off button and home button together got me the apple logo on the black screen and the phone was back to normal. Vaishnavi Venkat thank you so much. I was almost going to visit a iPhone shop for replacing my battery.

This worked for me. Thank you !

wow. Thank you it just worked for me as well!!! your a legend

by

This cannot work for me because my home button is broken or at least not working

by

It worked for one day. The actual solution is to disable the setting that prevents the battery from charging completely. Apple put this in recently to save battery life. Go to Settings and Battery...

my phone dies all the time on the charger, and i haven’t gotten around to go get a new battery, so this is a weird solution, but i have just grabbed a hairdryer and then held it in a close proximity to the bottom of the back of the phone while it is charging. it turns on within 30 seconds of heating up. either its because the heat raises the amount of power delivered to the device, or there is something to do with the overheating alert needing to be necessary. whatever the case, this works.

I opened up my phone, and saw my battery, wondering if I could take it out, BLOOD COLD, I took off the battery carefully, and Placed it back in after 5-10 seconds, then i closed my phone, plugged it into the computer, and my phone got noticed by the mac! But my display is still black. I pressed the home button and held it for 10 seconds and my apple logo appeared, WARNING! YOU DONT WANT YOUR DATA GONE, DONT DO THIS IF U DONT WANT UR DATA GONE it completely restarted my phone, but if you want your phone working again this is how…

My iPhone 6 has a black screen I've tried the 15 second rule, holding down both buttons. I can't get the Apple icon to come on.
