iPhone 6 water damage

Hello to all !!

I bought this iphone 6 with water damage, is dead , not turnin on.

Taking it apart I saw that the oxide was only on the front LCD-touch .. ... and on the back where the main condenser C5202_RF vcc.

I have measured out my knowledge in a 0,002 line pole and the other 0.00, meaning it is short?

Before removing it I would be sure

Thank you

You should change any capacitors that are shorted. If you are measuring 0.X, then it is shorted. Sometimes they look shorted but it can actually be another cap along the line instead.

Once that is done, do the following:

  • Open your phone and remove the logic board
  • Inspect the logic board, especially around the connectors and look for corrosion.
  • Inspect both sides of the board. Unfortunately, 80% of the board is covered in shields. That's usually where the damage is occurring.
  • Put your board in a container with >90% isopropyl alcohol and let it sit for a while.
  • Use a soft brush, like a toothbrush and lightly brush away any corrosion you see.
  • Rinse in alcohol and repeat.
  • Let it air dry for a day.
  • Re-assemble and hope for the best.
