Sd card won't stay in

The sd card wont stay in, it just ejects it. Is there any way to replace the sd card reader or something without buying a new motherboard?

Try another SD card, if the problem persists, you could desolder the reader from the motherboard and solder a new one on. You have to have a lot of experience soldering, though, because this is not an easy task. It would be way easier to wrap some tape around the SD card to make it thicker, then it'll get kind of stuck in the reader and you can use it like normal.

I agree. My friend gave me his old 3DS XL due to the fact he got the new edition. He said that the lower screen had a hole and the SD card comes out by itself. He said that the SD card was rubbish but when I had a closer look, I discovered that a drop caused it. Have you dropped yours?

I've had it since it came out, and it was in my backpack for quite a while, though it was in a protective case
