Apple hardware test 4MOT/4/40000003:HDD-1244

Hi again just ran a hardware test on my 27" Imac and came up with 4MOT/4/40000003:HDD-1244 does anybody know what it refers to.

Hi Mayer I have a late 2009 iMac 27" and yes the hard drive has been replaced about a few years ago.

Been listening to that run away fan for a long time now ;-) Loud, isn't it!

Here's what you need to fix the problem:

Apple used priority heat sensors on this series of machines.

Thanks I check it out, going to open it up soon. I am wondering if this has anything to do with random black screen. I keep you posted if it also resolves the issue. Thanks

Black screen is most likely a separate issue. Hook it up to an external monitor when that happens and see if the GPU is generating a signal. It may need a reflow.

I have done the torch test and I can see the desktop images some have suggested LCD convertor. also what do you mean by 'need a reflow'?
