Cindy mcgill , From forums I have read, these camera's seem to be prone to using up the batteries very quickly because of all the auto settings which you can turn off, reset the settings to factory initial, normal back light brightness, turn off continuous focus mode, turn off display and use the view finder,etc.etc., and it is a must to use very high quality batteries Duracell 2650 mAh rechargeable batteries (NiMH) or original Sony batteries are recommended. and use proper charging procedures to aid in longer battery life. Below the st link is a forum that discusses your issue with some tips to gt better battery performance and the 2nd link is your manual, which can tell you how to turn off auto settings to save on battery usage.

Good luck.

I hope this helped you out, if so let me know by pressing the helpful button.
