Mac boots and works, but black screen
Hi,
Here is the spec for my systems:
- Model: Macbook A1342 (13” 2.4 GHz - mid 2010)
- Model identifier: MacBook 7,1
- OSX: El Capitan 10.11.4
- Screen model: SAMSUNG LTN133AT09-G01
I need your help because I’m in trouble with my MacBook.
Some months ago I broke my LCD panel so I ordered a new one and last week I’ve installed it myself following your clear guide. The repair went fine but when I booted my system the screen flashed quickly and then shut down, with the Apple back logo that didn’t light up.
I heard the chime when the MacBook start and everything seemed to work normally, so I thought that was a problem with the LCD and I tried to resolve resetting PRAM and SMC as suggested here (No backlight on LCD) but nothing changed.
I reformatted my HDD to repair it because it was also broken, then I reinstalled the OS and my data from backup. I worked with my Mac connected on my TV by HDMI so I don’t think that the problem regard the logic board.
Now I’m come full circle, the Mac works as ever but the screen is completely black and I can’t see nothing (no light on Apple logo). I don’t know exactly what inverter cable and LVDS connector works and I’m not so expert to try to repair them or replace them with new other pieces (I read your guide and it’s a bit complicated for me). Could you help me with these components?
One more thing: I ordered my LCD panel from Amazon but they sent me a different one (LP133WX3 model): checking on the Q&A the seller said that was the same screen but change the producer (LG instead of Samsung) and ensured me the full compatibility with my Mac. Should I give it back and ask to replace with my specific model and then repeat the substitution? Could this be the problem?
Sorry for this long post, I tried to be much clear as possible.
Any help would be very appreciated! Thanks!
Is this a good question?
