Internal and headphones microphone not working but sound working fine

Hello I just got an iPhone 5S from a friend.

After changing the LCD and the battery the iPhone is working fine except the microphone is not working at all also with headphones connected the microphone of the headphones is not working but music comes out of the headphones.

I am not sure if this problem is a logicboard issue or if it is just the lightning connector.

How can I be sure which part is broken?

You will have to get the part replaced to know which is broken. It's either a logic board issue or the charging port dock issue.

There are 3 microphones in the iPhone.

The bottom microphone is for Voice Memo and phone calls. The other microphones serve as error cancellation

The (top) front microphone is used for FaceTime calls, Siri and selfie videos with the front camera (FCAM). The top back microphone serves as error cancellation

The (top) back microphone is used for videos with the rear camera (RCAM). The top front microphone serves as error cancellation

Make sure you update your device to the latest version of iOS and then try to isolate which microphone is not working properly by trying each individual microphone with the related apps above. If the issue affects more than one microphone, then it could be the Audio Codec IC on the logic board.

Anything at the logic board level will require micro-soldering so you would need to find a repair shop that offers those services.

Voice Memo is not recording anything.

Siri is not able to hear my voice and the rear camera is also not recording any sound at all...

The iPhone is updated to the latest iOS version.

If the Audio Codec IC is broken anything that has to do with recording sound will not work right?

The Audio Codec IC takes in the analog signals from all of the microphones and converts them to digital for downstream processing. So if none of your microphones are working, it is likely an issue with the IC.
