My screen is unresponsive after liquid damage. What should I do?

I am qualified for a replacement at a fee under the apple care plus. However because my touch screen is unresponsive. There is no way for me to key in my passcode to get my data backed up. My phone still can be turned on but only the screen refuses to respond. Any ideas ?

Turn off the device, and disconnect the batter as soon as possible. Follow Steps 1-15: iPhone 6s Plus Battery Replacement

Having power on the device will further corrode the contacts and cause more damage and you will have to pay for more.

Unfortunately, the liquid damage isn't covered under you AppleCare plan. See this link: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204104. So sending to apple for repair will be more than the $29 accidental screen replacement.

Follow this guide for repairing liquid damage: Repairing iPhone Liquid Damage

Hope this helps.
