Converted my iPhone 4 to White, now GPS doesn't work

OK so I took the plunge and bought that incredibly expensive white iPhone 4 conversion kit from that Chinese kid who was getting them from Foxconn. Everything looks very authentic.

I wish I knew about this site before I attempted to take my iPhone apart! I didn't keep good track of the screws and parts and wow, I couldn't figure out where all the screws fit back in.

Basically I just put everything back together, but with virtually no screws. I was barely able to get the back panel on, but it did fit. Everything works now except my GPS is completely broken! It still locates me in that giant blue circle, but I think it is just using Wifi locating for that.

What could I have done to break my GPS? Does it depend on having all the screws in?

Answer this question I have this problem too

If you take off the black shield plate and look underneath, in the middle there is a gps antenna connection iirc, its gold and accepts a pop on connection. As for screws the ground one is the very big screw which goes up the top middle of the black shielding, this grounds the frame and the antenna underneath, make sure you haven't bent the shielding

From what I heard, the screws are completely needed. It could so happen to be that one of the screws connect the steel frame (GPS and WIFI frame) to the motherboard so you can get a signal. You can google up where the screws go.

I can't find anywhere that describes what screws go where. Just videos with disclaimers to keep track of where the screws go, which I stupidly didn't go. Crap.

I remember seeing a picture guide where it shows exactly where each screw goes. I can't seem to find it anymore though. I'll tell you when I do find it.

My gps and service don't work. The wifi works fine.

Just found out my gps doesn't work either. Now i'm beginning to think it's really the screws problem for me too. I used all my screws but I think some are not in the right spots.

The guide on this website shows where each of the screws go, but I can't tell what size is which screw by looking at it.

Well you can take all the crews out. sort them by size and reassemble the phone again with the ifixit guide
