Mouse buttons don't work

My mouse buttons and touch pad would only right click. So I replaced it with a new one off of Ebay. The touch pad works great, and no problems for clicking. When I first connected it the top 3 buttons worked, but not the bottom 3. So I took it apart to make sure the ribbons where connected correctly for the bottom 3 buttons. Now none of the buttons work, but the touch pad is still good, and still works for clicking. Thanks for any help.
