Stuck in Waiting for iPhone

Hi,

I got a problem with iPhone 6. It keeps restarting automatically after 2 seconds. After that I try to upgrade to the new iOS and it works for 5 seconds and restart again. I leave it for a while then it automatic turn on and stuck in the white screen with Apple Logo. After that I never can turn my phone on again. I tried to connect to the computer and start it in DFU mode. The iTunes reconigned the phone under recovery mode, I hit restored and it stuck in Waiting For iPhone forever, can't get out of it.

Please let me know what was the problem is?

Thank you,

Steven

Has the phone been recently repaired? When it boot loops does the screen flash a color? Red or blue?

by

Yes, I change the battery for it. Before it wasn't on. I thought it was because of the battery, then I tried to change battery. Then now it happens. No flashing anything. No signal from the screen for now. The only thing I can do is put it in DFU mode, then it stucked at Waiting for iPhone in my iTunes

by

It is possible you have a defective battery. That will cause the phone to fail in the boot cycle.

by

but when I take the battery and put it into another phone, it works well

by

Now I left it connected with the computer it's auto come to the white screen with Apple logo, and stuck in there. The iTunes throw the error 4005.

That means your iPhone turns to brick.

May I know your iOS version?

You can try to flash your iPhone to the latest version with itunes or itunes alternatives.

do you have to pay for that software?

It is completely free to use.

Thanks to Grace for a really helpful link. The 3U tool does exactly what needs to be done when your phone is completely dead. Today my phone completly died and it was not booting up even in DFU mode I took the phone to repair shop and even them were not able to bring it back to life. Don't waste your time looking for other solution especially at that time when your Itune says waiting for iPhone. Simply follow the instruction on a link. Thanks to 3U, great tool.

I don't want to be the bearer of bad news, but error 9, 4005, 4013, 4014 can be indicative of NAND errors (data corruption).

Are you using genuine Apple Lightning cables? Have you tried this on more than one computer? Is iTunes updated to the latest version? If you are lucky, this may sort out your problem.

Try the following:

  • Use only a genuine Apple Lightning connector
  • Use only a genuine Apple charging brick and let it charge overnight
  • Try a hard reset (Home & Power button for 10 secs)
  • Try to connect it to different computers with iTunes (updated to the latest version) if possible
  • Put the phone in recovery mode (search DFU Mode). Careful, this can reset your data so only do it if you have a backup.
  • Download 3uTools and flash the same version (or newer) of iOS on your device

If you want to get deeper, disconnect the screen assembly and see if makes a difference. Sometimes, the front camera flex (with proximity and ambient light sensors) can cause issues.

Otherwise, you may have a logic board issue. If you are uncomfortable doing these steps, consider finding a repair shop to do the troubleshooting. A shop that also does micro-soldering can go deeper if the problem is not modular in nature.

I already restored it as a new one. This is the first time after it broke, it stayed for 10 minutes I am doing some setting then it died again. I can't do anything to let it back on. Leave it like that for a while, it turned on for 30 second, then go dark screen again, and it keeps repeat doing like that. I wonder if there was a problem with a cable, I can replace it but still not sure what the exactly problem is?,,

Re-read my answer and try ALL of the things I suggested then come back with the results.

I tried all but it's still the same. I brought it to Apple store already, they said they will replace a new one for $299++.

by

If you have tried everything, then you probably have a corrupted NAND. This can be fixed with a NAND programmer but requires that the NAND be removed, reprogrammed, reballed and re-soldered.

Cold solder joint

I have the same issue with my iphone 5 stuck on itunes error 4013 and 3U tool error -2.

After several attempts including changing the screen, DFU mode, etc... I finally found out that the issue came from the front camera/ sensor unit. I replaced this unit with a new cable and the phone can then be restored through itunes or 3U tool.

Hope this help anyone with the same issue.
