Touch id not working after screen replacement

I just finished up screen replcement and everything went well except now my phone cant activate touch id. I did try to peel the ribbon off of the back off the shield and im wondering if i would be able to damage it without any visible damage? I put it back in position and swapped over every part. The old screen didnt have the little shield as someone stated in another post, all the parts are there and everything came apart easy since i replaced the screen a few times already. I really dont just want to throw parts at it

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

My guess is that the homeflex extension cable that runs behind the shield is damaged. Even if you can't see it, it could be bent and that caused the micro rails in it to break. Try to replace it and see if it works.

This might sound dumb but did you reboot it after replacement? Sometimes it forgets that it's there and will find it again upon reboot.

Also, software reset might solve it too.

I did try to reboot it, i really didnt want to reset the software since that always takes forever to backup. But this morning i woke up to my battery dead. I hooked it up to the charger and when it started up touch id works again! Thanks for the response!
