My device won't turn on

My MacBook Air 11 Inch was working fine last night having had previous repairs and being in not so perfect condition. I woke up and turned it on and it didn't work. The battery was not dead and had charge, however the device did warn me that the battery required service. I connected it to the charger it charged but didn't work. The keyboard and everything was working fine last night despite missing a few of the keys. In my attempts to turn the device on I did notice a tiny hum which you have to listen very closely to hear. The caps lock did not light up. I'll see if I can add a photo of the interior of the computer. Hopefully you can work something out, Thanks Kevin M
