How is an aftermarket cooling fan installed?

I am new to the Cube realm and I'm wanting to install a cooling fan inside the Cube that I have purchased from OWC. I looked at the excellent teardown guide here, but it stops short of removing the perforated metal base under which the cooling fan is to be located. I have read that heat dissipation may be a problem with the cube. I recently installed a 500 GB Maxtor 7200 RPM HDD and I notice it getts very warm to the touch after being-hard tasked by iTunes. I also want to upgrade the video card which may discharge additional heat into the Cube's case. To sum it up, I'd like to know if iFixit has any archived reference material on this subject to share with the Cubists out there.
