I bought a power button flex cable but it is not connected to a hinge and all other ones in tutorials are so I am wondering how I can connect the flex to the hinge

This is one of the most frustrating repairs. The easiest way to do it, which is basically impossible, with out the proper tools, is to remove the post, put the "hinge" (good word, I don't have a word for it yet) put the post back in. It's really difficult and I wouldn't recommend doing it. After that remove the hinge from post, remove power button (actual button) put the hinge with flex cable on , put hinge back on post, add power button actual, then you have to kind of force the hinge back into place, and add the screw. It's a an aggravating repair. Really don't enjoy doing it

So the flex cable doesn't need adhesive
Not really. But it does need to be in the exact same spot
