Dropped iPhone, screen unresponsive

My kid brother threw his iPhone 5 onto the floor when he was throwing a tantrum, now the screen is completely unresponsive.

  • There are no cracks
  • There are no black spots/bands, screen looks completely normal
  • Not a problem with screen protector, took it off still unresponsive
  • Already tried hard restart

Are there other things I should try before resetting to factory settings? Will that even help? If it's a hardware problem only, anyone know approximately how much it will cost to fix this? It's probably just loose cables or something from that drop.

Screen been replaced before? If yes probably the screen cables just need reseating as sometimes the metal plate that holds down the screen connectors is not there.

Hi, no the screen wasn't replaced before. None of the parts were replaced/repaired actually.
