Replaced Wi-Fi antenna and still have grayed out Wi-Fi.

Hello! My Wi-Fi was grayed out on my iPad 4. After attempting network reset with no luck, I changed the antenna. My Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are still grayed out. Any idea how to repair this?

The antenna cables will not solve any issues with Wi-Fi not turning on or greyed out that is the Wi-Fi ic that has gone bad and needs to be replaced.

I've actually repaired several iPads with this issue by simply changing the Wi-Fi antenna. On occasion I've had to switch the Wi-Fi controller chip, but only on the iPad 2. Switching the chip in the 4 is not an option. Thank you for your response.

In that case it is just luck or disassembling the device actually resets something. Replacing the wifi chip in ipad 4 is difficult however still possible.

Do you have a link or any info on replacing the wifi chip in the 4?

KarenS, Just a thought since you want to change the chip anyway, what about just heating it up in case it may need reflowed for connection, I do not know what temps, etc. just a thought.

KarenS, Found this info. at the 1st link below, I myself do not have experience with this repair and the 2nd link is a video showing replacement of wifi chip.

If you can make sure your wifi chip is not working. You can bid an iPhone 4s wifi chip from any B2B site or try ebay. And use a heat gun to set the temperature to 370℃ put some flux on the chip then blow for 1-2mins ,you can remove the chip from the board ,after that clean your board with 99%alcohol ,put the new chip on then blow for less 1 min.
