Not Charging, No light on magsafe

Hello everyone, I recently got my hands on a 2011 Macbook Pro 15.

The laptop looks like it may have been dropped and the corner where the magsafe adapter goes. I am not getting a light from it when plugged in.

Laptop turns on and works when I charge the battery in a different machine. Also the magsafe cord works on my other a1286 perfectly.

Here are the troubleshooting steps I have done.

1. Pulled battery and tried to power from just the magsafe adapter to rule out a bad battery.

2. Reset SMC

3. Pulled logic board out of case to see if there was a short.

All in all I have done a few things to it and still get no light from the magsafe cord. Although when the board was out I did get a green light for a second then it turned off. Like I said computer will run off of battery power.

Any idea what it may be? Any advice would be helpful.

With the logic board out of the chassis, try wiggling the charging cable to see if it makes a connection and the charger light comes on again. If it does (and stays on) the issue is likely with a dirty or damaged DC jack. Make sure the fan spins, and replace the DC jack if it does.

If not, you have an issue with the logic board, which is more complex to diagnose. If you don't have experience soldering, I would recommend sending it elsewhere at this point.
