iPad Mini 2 Wifi - Screen Works, No Response - Should I Glue it Down?

All right. This may be a stupid question, but after taking 3 full hours to pull the dang iPad apart and pick glass pieces out, I don't want to have to do that again. So I'm asking questions before I take the next step.

I've got the new screen attached and everything put back together. All, that is, except for removing the tape from the edges and sticking it down again.

So I turned it on, and the LCD works just fine. I get to the lock screen, but the home button doesn't do anything, and the touchscreen doesn't do anything. Is this something that will be fixed by completing the last step of gluing it all down? Or is something disconnected still?

Thanks!

Double check to make sure the digitizer flex cable is pressed in all the way.

First, make sure the battery is unplugged.

Reseat the digitizer cable and LCD, then plug the battery back up.

If it doesnt work after a few tries, it's probably just a bad digitizer.

Thanks! The digitizer cable should "click" into place, right? I was afraid to put too much pressure on it. Otherwise, should I re-glue anything in the assembly?

Yes, it should click like a lego. Just be careful with it because it is easy to bend the pins. You shouldnt have to reglue anything that I know of. Keep me updated. Hopefully a reconnection will fix it.
