Direction of power button during asembly

I believe i am doing something wrong as my power button is depressed and won't move after I assembled it. Which direction should the lever on the power button move? One side moves completely flat versus the other side remains slanted

hi birdie,

think i answered this a few days ago.. the silver ring hangs downwards and sits in a little groove on rear case. when you put the screws in make sure not to over tighten them- sounds like you've got one of yours tighter than the other. take button out and try again, if this doesn't work you might have to flip the button round (some have a right side and a wrong side) it's a tricky/fiddly fix and i sometimes do it several times before it finally works. good luck

Did you replace the rear cover? Your first question was after a drop

Can you post a photo of back case without button in? + with?

Just wondering if the place where power button fits hasn't been manufactured well enough to house power button. If the groove isn't holding the silver ring maybe this is why it is lopsided and not springing

have you tried a bit of tape wrapped around the silver ring to push it up a bit in the housing?

I could try that. I am trying to suspect I was sold the wrong button cause this thing just sits there and it shouldn't be this hard.

quality of housings and fittings really varies. get back in contact with the supplier. if you bought off ebay then really read their feedback before buying. I've never had as much trouble as your having!!!!!
