Sony camera Cybershot DSC-H300

My 10 year old daughter somehow turned off her camera with the lens stuck in the "on" position.

Each time we turn on the camera, the CYBERSHOT logo just stays on the screen and the lens does not move.

Please help as we just purchased the camera and she needs this for her summer school photography class.

Have you tried removing the batteries and leaving them out for a few minutes? You can also try holding down the power button for 15 seconds, while the batteries are out, to make sure the capacitors have discharged.

You said you just got the camera. Did it come with any sort of warranty?
