Recent scam came up blocking phone use involving a $500 fine from FBI

My Samsung Galaxy recently was hacked with a permanent showing of the above involving a demand of payment and a 96 hour deadline but no instructions to clear the notice or how to make the payment......

Don't back your machine up, and don't pay anything to anyone! Reset your phone as if you were starting it as a new phone. That should eliminate what's going on with it... and don't do any surfing with that phone!

Jeffrey Harman , You have picked up Malware/Virus, It may be time to do a factory reset, doing this will loose all the current Data on phone putting it back like new hen purchased. You did not state your model, if the reset procedure does not work for you, do a search for factory reset using your model#.

To reset your phone to default factory settings:

Press and hold the following button:

Volume up + Power + Home.

This will bring up a small menu.

Using the volume keys navigate to "Wipe data/Factory reset"

This option should restore your mobile to its default settings.

If you are going to continue to use your phone, say for Web check into virus/malware protection Good luck.
